Total Points Possible

Practice Tests (2.5% each):
There will be four practice tests throughout the semester. They will have the same format as real IELTS reading tests. Students should try their hardest, as it will give real world practice before taking the actual test. Students will receive a Pass (took the test) or Fail (didn’t take the test) grade. If you can’t attend that day, notify me beforehand and we can reschedule.
Homework (2% each):
Homework will consist of parts one and two of each unit we will study. The homework for that unit should be completed before we cover it in class. It should be completed on your own, without the help of friends. Questions from the homework will be on the final.
Final Exam (70%):
The final exam will cover content from the entire semester. The style of the test will emulate that of the quizzes, but will be longer and ask new questions. Students will be informed of the date and location of the final as soon as the instructor knows.
Attendance:
Attendance will be taken every day. It will not have a direct impact on your grade in terms of a percentage, but if a student’s grade is nearer the upper edge the instructor will refer to the attendance list in determining if a grade increase is suitable.
Important Note: Any form of academic dishonesty, including cheating and plagiarism, may be reported to the office of student affairs.
